Anthony Zagami, CEO, SISCO

Anthony R. Zagami has over 30 years experience founding and managing companies that develop sophisticated electronic security systems and software solutions. He has a unique and extensive engineering and business management background in both domestic and international security.

Mr. Zagami holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Fairleigh-Dickenson University along with an AAS in Accounting and Finance. His early professional development includes classified engineering and design work in the aerospace industry with companies like Lockheed, Curtiss-Wright, and Grumman.

Highlights of his career include his creation in 1979 of Fair Security Systems, which developed and operated the largest radio frequency central alarm monitoring facilities in the New York area. In 1985 he was appointed Vice President of the Man Barrier Corporation and successfully developed a patented electronic detection system still used in the corrections industry. In 1990 he founded AVS Engineering Corporation, a security engineering consulting firm that successfully designed, integrated and assisted in the installation of high security access controls and weapons detection systems in large military sites. AVS Engineering pioneered large site security system integration by incorporating CCTV, perimeter detection, and access controls for a diverse roster of clients, including Rikers Island Correctional Institution, Bacardi Rum Headquarters, the New York State Department of Corrections, and Timex Corporation.

Mr. Zagami then founded AVSCO Corporation, which developed high-end security systems relating to perimeter security, CCTV surveillance, biometrics access control portals, and specialized weapons and explosive detection devices for correctional and government agencies. AVSCO also provided security consulting services to many US and foreign government agencies and industries. AVSCO was subsequently merged into Security Identifications Systems Corporation (SISCO), which Mr. Zagami founded in 1994.

SISCO pioneered specialized maritime security systems and was awarded a fleet contract by Princess Cruises to supply an access control boarding system that would photograph and identify all crew, passengers, vendors and visitors boarding their vessels. Since then all major cruise lines have contracted with SISCO for the installation of their (A-PASS®) access control system. SISCO is recognized as the preeminent supplier of Identity Management (IM) systems. FAST-PASS® is used to credential hundreds of thousands of people daily in hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, and many other facilities since it was first introduced in 2000. Mr. Zagami pioneered the development of a customized version of FAST-PASS® that was credited in playing a key roll in Accenture winning the contract (US-Visit) for the protection of all U.S. Borders. Both products have U.S. patents and have registered trademarks.

Mr. Zagami has been published in many trade publications and has lectured on the subject of electronic security systems and their application in combating terrorism around the world. He has been featured on CBS and NBC News, numerous periodicals and radio broadcasts, and is a regular lecturer at the Maritime Security Council and at conferences of the American Society for Industrial Security.
